I continued using my Ricoh ff-1 as a simple point-and-shoot, but I was also curious about a “proper” point-and-shoot with autofocus. I went for one of the most hyped models, the Mju II. It’s small, compact, and produces lovely images.
Its biggest downside is the auto flash mode, which is enabled by default and has to be turned off manually each time you want to shoot without flash. Unfortunately, the electronics have developed some issues over time, and disabling the flash is no longer possible at all - so I’m now considering whether to keep it or replace it.

Scenes from my local surroundings.
Early 2026 snow around home and at my day job in Düsseldorf.
The nostaltic location of our annual long weekend with friends.
It’s located near a lake where we like to go for walks or, if the weather is warm enough for that time of year, go swimming.
A day on the island of Wangerooge. Luckily, I had the Mju II with me when my main camera ran out of battery - something that happens maybe once a year, and I wasn’t prepared.
